Important Orioles’ Jackson Holliday injury update announced on Monday

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday is still recovering after undergoing surgery for a broken hamate bone. The Orioles would certainly love it if he could return soon, but there is currently no set date for his return. Holliday is currently with the big league ball club, but it remains to be seen when he will return from the injury.

“Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday is in St. Pete with the team, sources said, although it remains to be seen when/if he’s activated off the injured list. Holliday’s path back from surgery on his broken hamate bone hasn’t been smooth, but he just spent time on a rehab stint,” Andy Kostka of the Baltimore Banner reported on Monday.

Holliday has yet to play this season due to the injury. He appeared to suffer an injury setback during a rehab game, but Holliday avoided a serious setback. Still, it set his timeline for a return back.

He has been on a rehab assignment once again which means there is a chance he could make his season debut soon. The fact that he is currently with Baltimore is also an encouraging sign.

The Orioles will monitor and provide updates on Jackson Holliday’s injury status as they are made available.

Meanwhile, the ball club is set to play the Rays in Tampa Bay on Monday night. The contest represents the first matchup of a three-game series. First pitch for Monday night’s Orioles and Rays clash is scheduled for 6:40 PM EST.
