Hurricanes’ Taylor Hall wins Flyers Game 2 with electric OT winner

The Carolina Hurricanes won Game 1 of their second-round series against the Philadelphia Flyers. It was a big win for Carolina as they chase an elusive Stanley Cup. And they followed it up with another win in Game 2 to take a commanding 2-0 series lead in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Hurricanes were down 2-0 in this contest. However, Carolina came all the way back and were able to force overtime. During a scrum in front of the Flyers goal late in the overtime period, Taylor Hall put home a loose puck to give Carolina a 2-0 series lead.

Hall’s goal extends the Hurricanes’ incredible start to the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Carolina remains undefeated in the postseason with this win. They swept the Ottawa Senators in the first round. And are now 2-0 against the Flyers in the second round.

As mentioned, the Flyers got off to an incredible start in Game 2. Jamie Drysdale and Sean Couturier scored less than a minute apart to give the Flyers a big 2-0 lead. However, Carolina brought itself back with Nikolaj Ehlers’s first playoff goal as a member of the Hurricanes.

This is a developing story. Updates to follow.
