Hurricanes’ K’Andre Miller drops NSFW take on haters after 1st Stanley Cup win

K’Andre Miller has spent one full season with the Carolina Hurricanes, and he already has one Stanley Cup championship to his name. The 26-year-old was terrific throughout the 2026 postseason, helping the Canes go 16-3 en route to their first title in two decades.

The title capped off the best season of the former New York Rangers defenseman’s career, and it also gave him an opportunity to send a message to everyone who doubted him along the way.

In a video posted by Daily Faceoff’s Jonny Lazarus after Carolina defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday night, Miller was asked whether winning hockey’s ultimate prize felt even sweeter because of the criticism he has faced throughout his career.

His answer didn’t leave much room for interpretation.

“100 percent. I had a lot of people count me out — had a lot of people talking s**t,” Miller said with a smile. “I can’t wait for them to see my ring.”

The comments quickly gained traction online as Hurricanes fans celebrated the franchise’s first championship since 2006.

Miller has spent years dealing with scrutiny despite possessing all the tools of a top-pairing NHL blueliner. Throughout his career, he’s been praised for his skating ability, size and offensive upside, but has also been criticized whenever mistakes crept into his game.

None of that mattered during Carolina’s championship run.

Miller played a key role on a stifling Hurricanes blue line that overwhelmed opponents throughout the postseason. Carolina swept the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers before eliminating the Montreal Canadiens in five games and the Golden Knights in six.

By the time the Stanley Cup was awarded, Miller had become one of the most important players on a team that dominated from start to finish. He finished with nine points in 19 postseason contests while playing tough minutes each and every game.

“I’m just happy that I’m a Carolina Hurricane and we get the opportunity to do this again next year,” Miller added. “You look at this team and how it’s assembled, the coaching staff, even our trainers, everyone was really pulling the same way this year, and it made it really easy coming to the rink, throwing a smile on my face and just putting my best foot forward.

“Lot of credit to these guys and the organization.”

Miller, like many of his teammates, is a Stanley Cup champion for the first time. And based on the way Carolina’s roster is constructed, the Hurricanes appear positioned to remain contenders for years to come.
