How many votes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander received for Clutch Player of the Year

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took home the Clutch Player of the Year Award on Tuesday. After becoming the fourth player in league history to win the trophy since it was announced in 2022, we take a look at the voting numbers for the Clutch-POY.

Reports indicate that the 27-year-old superstar received 96 of the available 100 first-place votes, according to insider Brett Siegel. The only other players to receive first-place votes were Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, and Nikola Jokic.

“Shai Gilgeous-Alexander received 96/100 votes for Clutch Player of the Year,” reported Siegel. “Jalen Brunson (2), Cade Cunningham (1), and Nikola Jokic (1) received the other four first-place votes.”

It’s safe to say it was a landslide in favor of the eight-year veteran. His 175 clutch-time points were a league high this season. His efforts in those contests led the Thunder to a 20-7 record. He also was +93 in 125 available clutch-time minutes played in the 2025-26 campaign

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is still very much in contention for the MVP Award as well. He ended the regular season averaging 31.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game while shooting 55.3% from the field and 38.6% from beyond the three-point line. Gilgeous-Alexander also led the NBA in free throws made per game (7.9) while hitting 87.9% of his free-throw attempts.

After winning the Clutch Player of the Year Award and waiting for the results of the MVP voting (announced Friday, April 24), Gilgeous-Alexander is focused on leading the Thunder through the NBA Playoffs. Oklahoma City will take on the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 on Wednesday, as the club aims to take a 2-0 lead over the Suns.
