Heat’s injury report vs. Hornets in NBA Play-In Tournament features key upgrade
With the Miami Heat taking on the Charlotte Hornets in the play-in tournament, the injury report is crucial as the team has been dealing with injury woes all season. As the Heat look to save their 2025-26 season on Tuesday night in the play-in tourney clash, here is a look at the team’s injury report ahead of the do-or-die game for the franchise, which features an important upgrade.
Fortunately for Miami, the team appears to be the healthiest it has been in a long time, which is much-needed with the team on the brink of elimination against the Hornets as the 10th seed in the play-in tournament. However, there was one player who was at risk of missing the game, as Pelle Larsson was listed as “questionable” with a right lower leg contusion.
Larsson missed the Heat’s regular-season finale in the 140-117 win over the Atlanta Hawks last Sunday, but as of the 12:15 p.m. (EST) injury report, he’s been upgraded to “available” for the game. The second-year guard has been a vital player for Miami and head coach Erik Spoelstra, as he’s been mostly a mainstay in the starting lineup, having been in it for 54 games.
So far this season, he’s been averaging 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from beyond the arc. He’s been an effective two-way player for the Heat, one that Spoelstra has trusted in the starting lineup.
Heat’s Nikola Jovic to miss Hornets play-in clash, speaks of return
The only two players that are out for the Heat are Nikola Jovic and Dru Smith (foot soreness), with the former dealing with a left ankle sprain, as he sustained the injury in April 4’s win over the Wizards.
According to Ira Winderman of The Sun Sentinel, Jovic said that the earliest he’d return is the first round of the playoffs, if the Heat were to make it through the play-in tournament, though playing time has been sparse.
Before Miami can think about the NBA Playoffs, they need to get through the play-in tourney first, which starts Tuesday night against the Hornets.
