Hawks’ Onyeka Okongwu pops up on injury report ahead of Game 2 vs. Knicks
The Atlanta Hawks went down 1-0 in their series against the New York Knicks, and they’ll be looking to tie the series in Game 2. They already had a key injury in their frontcourt coming into the series, with Jock Landale still recovering from his ankle sprain, and another play was added to the report.
Onyeka Okongwu is listed as questionable ahead of Game 2 with right knee inflammation, and it’s uncertain how serious the injury is.
Okongwu has been a key factor for the Hawks this season and is playing a huge part in this series as he has to guard Karl-Anthony Towns. With Landale out, he’s being relied on more heavily on both sides of the ball, and an injury to him is not good news for the Hawks.
In Game 1 against the Knicks, Okongwu finished with 19 points and seven rebounds.
More on this story to come.
