The Nicky Henderson-trained star failed to win as the favourite at Cheltenham Festival last month.

But he’s back quickly into Aintree after pulling out of last year’s National Festival due to the firm ground.

This is an interesting one as he steps up to 2m4f for the first time and the new chaser, who has already won three times over fences has shown he’s got the ability.

At just five-years-old he’s beaten some well established and well rated chasers.

And clearly the trainer and owners are happy with this move to two and a half miles instead of a flat 2m.

He takes on just five rivals here each of whom have their own draws and positives but Lulamba is rated well ahead of the rest.

If it were a handicap for instance he’d be carrying from 12lb more than Koktail Divin to 19lb more than Blueking d’Oroux.

So the advantage is well on for Lulamba.
