Giants’ Rafael Devers secures 1st multi-home run game of 2026

The San Francisco Giants dumping Rafael Devers sprouted as a red-hot MLB rumor. He entered Saturday against the Atlanta Braves facing a possible departure before the MLB Trade Deadline. But Devers pounded out this first for 2026: A multiple home run performance.

The left-handed batter even smacked both of his blasts through the first three innings. Including this bomb that bounced off the foul pole but stayed in fair territory.

Devers’ second blast drove three home in total. He faced an 83 miles per hour slider before sending the baseball toward the ocean.

But he smashed a solo rip toward center field for his first homer, which became the first run on the Giants’ side. His center field blast traveled 404 feet and faced a 91 miles per hour pitch.

The first baseman pounded two hits to lead the Giants through eight innings. He also led SF with four RBIs and scored two runs.

Devers still faces a nebulous future in SF. His massive contract sparked debates on why Devers is facing a trade. Devers once signed a whopping 11 years for $331 million which features a $27 million cap hit for 2026. This contract originally allowed Devers to become a free agent by 2034. But again, Devers’ eye-grabbing deal fuels speculation that the Giants need to restructure the deal or find a team that can take on his salary.

The Giants star called out the media, though, four days earlier. Even declaring why he doesn’t like talking to reporters.

So now his epic two-run homer game is bound to deliver far different headlines involving him.
