The star-studded PGA Tour field will be remaining in California this week for the latest edition of the Genesis Invitational.

Collin Morikawa won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am last weekend and now Ludvig Aberg is defending his crown at the Genesis.

Aberg beat off competition from Maverick McNealy and Scottie Scheffler to win on 12-under-par in the 2025 event.

World No.1 Scheffler has already posted three top five finishes this season, so he will be sure to contend for the trophy.

However, Rory McIlroy will also hope to be fighting at the top end of the leaderboard for his first success of 2026.

The winner of this year’s Genesis Invitational will win a whopping prize of $4million, with second place pocketing $2.2million.

Genesis Invitational: Date and how to follow

The 2026 Genesis Invitational will be taking place from Thursday, February 19 through to Sunday, February 22.

It is being held at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California.

Action will get underway at 3:15pm UK time each day.

Genesis Invitational: Field and tee times

As this is a Signature Event, the PGA Tour‘s biggest stars will all be featuring in California this week.

Scheffler and McIlroy will headline the star-studded field, while Pebble Beach champion Morikawa will be in action again.

English stars Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood will compete, along with Ryder Cup teammate and last year’s winner Aberg.

Chris Gotterup, Russell Henley, JJ Spaun and Robert MacIntyre are also among the higher-ranked players set to feature.

McIlroy, Fleetwood and Morikawa have been grouped together for the opening two days and will tee off at 5:08pm UK time on Thursday.

Scheffler is with Xander Schauffele and Si Woo Kim for the first two rounds and will get his tournament underway at 7:37pm.

Genesis Invitational: What has been said?

After a disappointing few rounds at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am last week, McIlroy spoke about how he’s improved.

He said: “I think [I’ve improved my] iron play, short game – I think those two areas.

“Maybe the driver as well even though, as I said, I hit a couple of destructive tee shots.

“I got one going on the wind on 18 yesterday and then the one on four [triple-bogey], but for the most part like I drove the ball better, which is good to see as well.

“I’m in a good spot. Get rid of those big numbers and I wouldn’t be just right there, I would probably be in the lead.”
