Floyd Mayweather offered rematch in two brutal sports by former foe

Andre Berto wants to renew hostilities with Floyd Mayweather, 10 years removed from their first meeting.

Mayweather comfortably outpointed Berto in the penultimate bout of his dazzling 50-0 professional boxing career in September 2015.

Judge Adalaide Byrd scored all 12 rounds to Mayweather, while her colleagues had it 118-110 and 117-111 in ‘TBE’s’ favour.

Flash forward to the present day, and Berto is looking to exact his revenge in either bare-knuckle boxing or the Dirty Boxing Championship.

Asked by Mike Perry on the OverDogs Podcast which discipline he would like to run it back with Mayweather in, Berto replied: “Either one of them.

“I’ve got a little bit more to me. Floyd likes to run around, try to box, and look all…

“I wanna be able to grab his s*** and hit him with some other s***.

“So, either one, to be honest. With him, he’s just so comfortable in the boxing ring.

“Floyd, he talks a lot, but I know you for real. I’ve known Floyd since I was 16, and I know you’re really not like that.

“If we’re in a bar somewhere, I know you’re not like that for real.

“When it comes to that boxing ring, you’ve got all that safety around you, and all you have to do is look slick to get away with it.

“That’s a whole different situation, bro.”

What is the Dirty Boxing Championship?

Dirty Boxing Championship (DBX) is a hybrid boxing league co-owned by UFC veterans Jon Jones and Perry.

Since launching in 2024, DBX has quickly gained attention for its dynamic ruleset.

Fights are contested in 4oz MMA gloves, and while kicks and knees are not permitted, there are far fewer restrictions around strikes with the upper limbs.

Unlike bare-knuckle boxing, which is essentially traditional boxing without gloves, DBX allows for superman punches, spinning backfists, elbows and standing ground and pound.

When did Andre Berto last fight?

While Mayweather remains active in the exhibition boxing sphere, former welterweight world champion Berto hasn’t competed since his unsuccessful return to the paid ranks in December 2023 against Robert Guerrero.

Despite the setback, Berto appears keen to resume his career.
