Fever’s Caitlin Clark shuts down concern over sudden back injury that caused a stir
After Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark missed last Wednesday’s win against Portland Fire, 90-73, as she was dealing with a back issue, she would make her return in the game following with the 90-82 victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Friday. As there was an injury mystery surrounding the Fever star, she would downplay any further concern ahead of Thursday’s rematch against Golden State.
Speaking at Tuesday afternoon’s practice, Clark would be asked about the back injury and if it started at a specific point, coming off her return in the aforementioned win over the Valkyries, where she recorded 22 points and nine assists. Clark would explain how she can’t pinpoint an exact time for the injury, but it’s more so “over the course of the last year” in understanding her body, according to James Boyd.
“I don’t think it necessarily started at a certain point. I think it’s just been over the course of the last year when I’ve kind of been understanding my body more. I think before that it was always like ‘I’m fine, I’m fine, like, go play, go play, go play,’ and maybe sometimes I’m a little too hyper aware about certain things,” Clark said.

Fever’s Caitlin Clark downplays concern of back injury
There is no denying that whenever the Fever star in Clark sustains an injury, it’s huge news, as her health has held her back in previous seasons, especially last year, when she only played 13 games due to a myriad of issues. However, when it comes to the back issue, Clark says she doesn’t believe “it’s anything of concern.”
“But at the same time, that’s good, like I understand things, and just continuing to work through that, and yeah, I think it’s just finding the balance of like when I maybe don’t get to be as aware or when I’m going to be a little too over aware, so still working through that, I don’t think it’s anything of concern though,” Clark said.
At any rate, Clark and the Fever look to extend their winning streak to four games on Thursday night against the Valkyries.
