Fever’s Caitlin Clark sets bonkers WNBA record in just 59 career games

Caitlin Clark continues to glow in her comeback from an injury-riddled 2025 season.

The Indiana Fever superstar point guard has her team rolling early in the 2026 WNBA campaign, as they entered Thursday night’s showdown against the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, with a 4-2 record and on a three-game winning streak.

The former Iowa Hawkeyes star also added to her ever-growing basketball resume with a major accomplishment he completed in the first half of the Valkyries game.

Clark started the day needing just three assists to reach the 500 assists plateau, and he hit that target with four assists in the first half to also make her the fastest player in the history of the WNBA to rack up at least 1,000 points and 500 assists.

In the first half, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year had 11 points on 2-for-6 shooting with a 3-pointer, four assists, two rebounds and two steals in 14 minutes.

She also had a solid performance in the previous Fever game, which was also against the Valkyries last Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she produced 22 points on 7-for-15 shooting with nine assists and two rebounds in a 90-82 Indiana victory.

The 24-year-old Clark would also have likely reached that milestone earlier if not for missing many games in 2025. She also recently missed a game with a back issue before returning for last week’s meeting with Golden State.

Caitlin Clark and the Fever are looking to sustain their form and extend their winning streak in this game against the Valkyries before traveling again to face the Portland Fire on Saturday at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
