Fans are going through it after Giants’ Joe Schoen announcement
The New York Giants were apparently trying to look for a new start in the offseason when they hired John Harbaugh as their head coach and selected linebacker Arvell Reese with the No. 5 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

However, instead of making a move at the general manager’s position, the Giants announced they have come to a 2-year agreement with Joe Schoen to remain in his current position. It was widely expected that the Giants would part company with their general manager. A new face was expected to take over the position.
The Giants have struggled badly during the last three seasons. They have put together just a 13-38 record in the process. They fired former head coach Brian Daboll last year. The Giants traded dynamic running back Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles. That disastrous move played a key role in the Eagles winning Super Bowl LIX.
Giants fans took to X to vent their frustration with the decision to extend Schoen. Many of the tweets were of the “disbelief” variety. Fans were wondering how the team could possibly bring Schoen back after so many mis-steps.
One of the tweets involved an old “Sanford and Son” clip with Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx) clutching his chest and feigning a heart attack. That was his signature move during the run of the classic series.
Apparently, the Giants believe that Harbaugh was working well with Schoen. They did not want to break up the combination. Harbaugh has been supportive of Schoen in his remarks.
“I feel great about how it’s gone. Starting from the ground up, it’s a great group. It’s a great group that Joe put together,” Harbaugh said, per ESPN.com. “On the scouting side, I feel like they’re just thorough.
