Even Victor Wembanyama’s dad was impressed by spike block on Deni Avdija in Spurs’ series win

Legend has it that Deni Avdija is still looking for the ball.

The San Antonio Spurs advanced to the second round of the playoffs on Tuesday after walloping the Portland Trail Blazers, 114-95, in Game 5 at Frost Bank Center to win their first-round series, 4-1.

Once again, Victor Wembanyama did damage on both ends. Just ask Avdija.

In the fourth quarter, Avdija attacked the rim and tried to score on a floater. But Wembanyama was there to protect the paint, swatting Avdija’s shot all the way to the Louvre Museum.

Even Wembanyama’s dad was impressed with the rejection.

The face said it all.

Fans on X were also hyped.

“These are video-game blocks, WTF!” said @MeeSowCorny.

“Took a man’s soul,” added @hahmsblen42.

“Whole series has been a Deni humiliation ritual,” wrote @adotzeez.

“A freak of nature. He doesn’t even need to try too hard,” posted @koredeJr7.

“This playoff loss was promised to him (Avdija) 3,000 years ago,” commented @alltingzx.

Wembanyama finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocks.

The Spurs are back in the conference finals for the first time since 2017.
