Erling Haaland reveals Hollywood actor once tried to convince him to join Tottenham
Tom Holland may well be Spider-Man, but even his super powers were unable to convince Erling Haaland to join Tottenham Hotspur.
The Hollywood megastar is an avid Spurs fan, and once admitted that his support of the club has taught him a key lesson in resilience.

Holland attended the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix and spotted Haaland who, at the time, was a rising talent in football at Borussia Dortmund.
He just scored a stunning 41 goals in as many appearances during the 2020/21 season before visiting Monte Carlo for the Formula 1 race.
Eyeing an opportunity to meet, Holland messaged the Norwegian on Instagram but, despite being universally renowned, nothing arose.
Haaland admitted on A Laget that he didn’t know who he was, and therefore chose not to respond to the message.
Holland then admitted to contacting him during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors,” he humorously explained amid a lack of response.
Haaland reacted to the interview on his YouTube channel and was on hand to reveal what Holland penned in his unsuccessful message.
“‘Hiya mate, just saw you in Monaco,” Holland wrote.
“If you want to grab a drink or something, give me a shout. And please come join Spurs.'”
“I don’t watch Spiderman,” Haaland explained, before addressing a claim that said he thought Holland was ‘a random person’.
“I said it in a funny way, but it got taken out of context. I sounded a bit rude, I even sent him a message because I felt bad…

“‘There’s a story going out that I was ignoring you. Just want to make sure that wasn’t my intention or whatever…'”
Haaland then recalled how he responded to Holland’s request for him to sign for Spurs, before joining Manchester City a year later.
“And by the way, not too sure about Spurs at the moment, but who knows in the future?'”
Spider-Man meets Erling?
After recalling his failed attempt to message Haaland, Holland was asked if he would still like to go to dinner with the football sensation.
However, the interview took place days after England beat Norway 2-1 in the World Cup quarter-finals, so he was unsure of its possibility.
“I don’t think he would have dinner with me after the other day,” he said, before agreeing that Haaland would be ‘hurting’ from the loss.

The story of the thwarted meet in Monaco was uploaded onto social media, and caught Haaland’s attention.
In the comments on the Instagram posted, he tagged Holland and said: “Dinner invitation accepted. A little late. Just name the place!”
