Thomas Tuchel’s men reached the final eight of the World Cup with a thrilling 3-2 victory over co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium.

And England will now top the bill for a brilliant day of sporting action this weekend.

England vs Norway

The World Cup quarter-final will take place live from the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, home to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

It will kick-off at 5pm local time, which will be 10pm for fans in the UK – which is a far more agreeable time than for the win over Mexico.

talkSPORT has a fan zone where your £15 ticket also gets you a free pint to watch all the action.

talkSPORT will have live coverage of the match against Norway, with Adrian Durham, Jim Proudfoot and ex-England captain Stuart Pearce.

Current Three Lions skipper Kane will enjoy playing in an NFL stadium as an avid American football fan, but is also a keen golfer.

Thankfully for Scottish fans who have long since seen their World Cup involvement end, there’s major sport happening on their doorstep.

Day three of the 44th edition of the Scottish Open will be underway from 9am ahead of the final golf major of the year at Royal Birkdale.

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler headline the event at The Renaissance Club, with updates on talkSPORT 2 from East Lothian.

England rugby and cricket

Saturday afternoon will provide the perfect build-up to the World Cup quarter-final, with England in action across multiple sports.

First, Alfie Reynolds will have regular updates from The Nations Championship match between Fiji and Steve Borthwick’s side.

England, who suffered a 45-21 loss to South Africa in their opening Nations Championship fixture, will hope to bounce back at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool.

Shortly afterwards, Sam Ellard will have updates on the fifth T20I between England and India in Southampton. Play starts at 2.30pm.

England Women will also be in action against India Women at Lord’s, with play starting at 11am and live updates will be on talkSPORT.

Wimbledon Women’s Final

There may not be an English representative on the court, but tennis at SW19 is still a sight to behold.

British Women’s No.1 Emma Raducanu pulled out of the ladies’ singles just hours before her scheduled opening match.

Meanwhile, Katie Boulter was dispatched 6-4, 6-2 by an 18-year-old qualifier ranked outside the top 150 in her first-round contest.

But there will be a new name on the Wimbledon Women’s trophy after reigning champion Iga Swiatek crashed out.

Lisa O’Sullivan will have regular updates from The Championships at Wimbledon live from Centre Court at 4pm.

Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2

In keeping with tradition, England fans might want to continue partying well into the night if the result against Norway is positive.

And the UFC will take over late shift duties, with Conor McGregor returning to fighting for the first time in 1,827 days at UFC 329.

‘Notorious’ hasn’t fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 but renews hostilities with Max Holloway.

McGregor, who defeated Holloway in just his second UFC fight 13 years ago, remains the UFC’s highest-selling pay-per-view fighter.

talkSPORT.com will be across all of the latest updates from UFC 329 through McGregor vs Holloway, with details here on how to follow.

Argentina v Switzerland

And we head back to the World Cup to round off a stunning day.

Lionel Messi’s Argentina take on Granit Xhaka and Switzerland in Kansas City Stadium in the last quarter-final.

Messi inspired the World Cup holders to a stunning comeback win over Egypt last time out while the Swiss beat Colombia on penalties.

Ben Fletcher, Ian Danter and former Chelsea defender Scott Minto will have live commentary from Kansas for talkSPORT.

The winner could well face England in the semi-finals.
