Eddie Hearn’s heavy-handed prospect Teremoana Teremoana steamrolls foe Jake Paul dropped

Teremoana Teremoana made quick work of DeAndre Savage on Wednesday to keep his 100 per cent knockout ratio intact.

The hard-hitting Aussie was extended to the second round for only the third time in his 12-0 career, but just one minute and 22 seconds into the frame, it was all over.

Savage looked way out of his depth from the off, shipping multiple clean right hands as he circled the ring.

The untested American, who is best known for being dropped in sparring by Jake Paul, eventually found himself trapped against the ropes where he was chopped down by a right hand.

Savage subsequently saw out the count on his knee.

What did Teremoana have to say after the fight?

Speaking after his successful first main event in Queensland, Teremoana said: “It’s such a wonderful time to perform here in the Gold Coast in front of my fellow Australians and Cook Islands. 

“I’m very proud to represent our people on the world stage, and all I would like is a bit of support, so come and support your boy. 

“I didn’t expect this reception, so thank you, everyone, for coming out tonight. You all made it very special. 

“I think everyone can see I am a lot more patient, but the punches found their mark. 

“I was hoping he was going to get up; that annoys me.

“Get up; let’s have a rumble. Come on.”

His promoter, Eddie Hearn, added: “We have got to step up the opposition. That’s what we did tonight, supposedly. 

“We picked a guy who went 10 rounds with a good heavyweight, and Teremoana is too good. 

“You see the fear on Savage’s face. As soon as he landed, his eyes were popping out of his head. 

“He didn’t even land that clean; he didn’t want to get up. I wouldn’t want to get up. 

“But we need to find someone who will get up because that is all part of the progression and journey.

“I have been around boxing a long time; when do you see that? When do you see a 6ft 7in giant come out and light up the room with a smile on his face, singing and dancing?

“You have got to be a little bit patient because it’s a build, but I promise you Australia has the best chance it has ever had to have a heavyweight superstar in Teremoana Teremoana.

“He punches so hard; as soon as he lands it is all over.”

Hearn also confirmed plans to have Teremoana feature on the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury undercard in November.
