Eagles fans will love Sean Mannion’s first report on working with Jalen Hurts

After a tumultuous 2025 campaign, the Philadelphia Eagles brought in a new offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to work with quarterback Jalen Hurts.

So far, Mannion likes what he sees. Coming off of his third Pro Bowl season and having already won a Super Bowl, Hurts has proven to be a top tier quarterback in the NFL. But his new offensive coordinator still thinks there is room to grow, via John Clark NBC Sports Philadelphia.

“He’s hungry for more,” Mannion said of Hurts.

The offensive coordinator is playing to build his playbook around the quarterback. While he will bring in new ideas, Mannion won’t stray away too far from what has made Hurts and the Eagles successful in the past.

“Eagles new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion says Jalen Hurts is a capable learner and is always asking poignant questions as they build the new offense,” Clark wrote.

“Sean says the Eagles offense will be a blend of the schemes that he feels strongly about and things that Jalen likes and is comfortable with, and things the Eagles have done well,” he continued. “He says the terminology for the offense will also be a blend.”

While the Eagles are just two years removed from winning a Super Bowl, it’s clear their pass game needs a bit of a boost. In 2025, Philadelphia ranked 23rd in passing offense, averaging 194.3 yards per game. A year prior, they ranked 29th, averaging 187.9 YPG.

Mannion knows the work he has cut out for himself. But he also believes he has the right quarterback to execute his gameplan with in Hurts. Especially with how 2025 went, their pairing will be under the microscope all season.
