Dodgers star Kyle Tucker addresses injury scare in win vs. Giants
The Los Angeles Dodgers avoided a major injury scare Wednesday night after Kyle Tucker briefly appeared shaken up during a 4-0 win against the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium.
The concern began during the middle innings when Tucker fouled a pitch off his left leg and foot, immediately showing visible discomfort near home plate. The sequence drew extra attention because a pitch had hit the Dodgers’ outfielder in the same area during Tuesday’s game.
Despite the pain, Tucker stayed in the lineup after manager Dave Roberts and a team trainer checked on him. He later continued producing at the plate as Los Angeles snapped its four-game losing streak with a needed victory over its division rival.
The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya shared a reassuring update after the game Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, relaying comments from both Tucker and Roberts post-game.
“Kyle Tucker said he’s alright. Dave Roberts said there’s ‘no concern’ about Tucker’s left foot.”

The update quickly eased concern surrounding one of the Dodgers’ most important hitters. Tucker finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored, continuing a productive 2026 season in the middle of Los Angeles’ lineup.
Through 42 games, the 29-year-old owns a .260 batting average with 40 hits, four home runs, 20 RBIs, and 29 runs scored. His ability to remain in the game and contribute offensively made the postgame update even more encouraging for the Dodgers.
After signing with Los Angeles during the offseason, the former Houston Astros slugger has continued providing steady production near the top of the lineup while helping stabilize the offense through several recent injuries across the roster.
Shohei Ohtani also delivered a dominant performance on the mound, throwing seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts while lowering his ERA to 0.82. Between Ohtani’s brilliance and Tucker avoiding a serious injury, Los Angeles came away with a significant boost in a competitive National League West race.
