Did Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson take a subtle shot at Dyson Daniels with IG post?

After going down 2-1 in their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, the New York Knicks became the epitome of that one meme where a man sitting on a gaming chair leans forward, signaling that it’s time to take things seriously. The Knicks blew out the Hawks in three consecutive games, including a bonkers 51-point demolition, 140-89, on the road in the closeout Game 6 on Thursday to book their ticket to the next round of the 2026 NBA playoffs.

With the game getting out of hand for the Hawks in the second quarter, tensions ran high between Dyson Daniels and Mitchell Robinson in a fight for a loose ball on the free throw line. With Robinson trying to scamper free with Daniels and Okongwu boxing him out, the Hawks guard swung an elbow towards the Knicks center’s chest, triggering an altercation between the two.

Robinson got into Daniels’ grill, and the two had to be separated after a few seconds being tangled up together. Both of them were ejected, but this was a moot point for either team as the Knicks had already sealed the game by then.

After the game, it seems as though Robinson has some mean parting words for Daniels. Posting a story on his official Instagram account, the Knicks center reposted a reel of an AI singing rodent that made it clear what Robinson thought of the Hawks guard.

The might be another budding rivalry in the NBA, as the Hawks are going to remember being punked on their own home floor by the Knicks, and in a closeout game, no less. New York has now exacted revenge for its playoff exit in 2021, and it might be safe to assume that we have not seen the last of these two teams being antagonistic towards each other.
