Devil Wears Prada 2 blooper shows Karl-Anthony Towns’ joke that made Anne Hathaway break character

Finally, bloopers are emerging from The Devil Wears Prada 2, and one shows a different take on Karl-Anthony Towns and Anne Hathaway’s scene.

In the blooper reel, it shows another version of Andy Sachs (Hathaway) and KAT’s interaction at Miranda Priestly’s (Meryl Streep) estate in the Hamptons.

Towns, who plays himself, talks about the celebrities who attend New York Knicks games. Andy asks, “Really? Who’s the most surprising person?”

Karl: “you’d be surprised who comes through Madison Square Garden”

Anne (in character): “really? who’s the most surprising person?”

He replies, “Uhh, do you know Anne Hathaway?” This made Hathaway crack up, and they had to call cut on the scene since they broke character.

Karl-Anthony Towns’ cameo in the Anne Hathaway-led Devil Wears Prada 2

KAT makes a brief appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2. However, it goes differently from the take shown in the blooper reel. He runs into Hathaway’s character at a swanky party thrown by Miranda.

Hathaway, a real-life Knicks fan, tells KAT, “It was a great series. It was a thrill to be a New Yorker.” Meanwhile, Towns appeared appreciative of the compliment.

This wasn’t Towns’ first cameo in a major movie. Previously, he made a cameo in What Men Want, a comedy movie from 2019, as himself.

Things have been going well for Towns. The Devil Wears Prada 2 has grossed over $677 million worldwide to date, which is significantly more than its predecessor, which made $326.6 million in 2005.

Additionally, KAT helped lead the Knicks to the franchise’s first championship since 1973 in 2026. New York beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals. Early in the series, when the Knicks were up 2-0 in the series, Towns looked destined to be named Finals MVP. The award ultimately went to Jalen Brunson, who scored 45 points in the series-clinching Game 5.

Towns is entering his third year with the Knicks. He spent the first nine years of his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who drafted him with the first pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
