Dak Prescott Gushes About Budding Cowboys Star

George Pickens arrived in Dallas to complement CeeDee Lamb, but he has emerged as the Dallas Cowboys’ most dominant receiving force in recent weeks. The receiver caught nine passes for 146 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ 24-21 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
This performance capped a remarkable stretch that included 144 receiving yards and a score against the Raiders just six days prior. The two-week stretch has not gone unnoticed by Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott.
Following the win against the Eagles, Prescott spoke openly about Pickens and what the organization needs to do to keep him in a Cowboys uniform long-term.
“My expectations are limitless with that guy. He’s not from here. He’s not from this planet. We lucked up getting a guy like that. We have to make sure we can keep him here. He’s a hell of a player. He’s turning into a leader. He’s special,” Prescott said, via Jon Machota.

The Cowboys acquired Pickens by trading a 2026 third-round pick, a 2027 fifth-rounder, and a 2027 sixth-round selection to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The investment has already proven worthwhile as Pickens positions himself among the league’s elite receivers this season.
Through Week 12 against Philadelphia, he has accumulated 1,054 receiving yards, second only to Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the NFL. Pickens’ breakout performance has sparked conversations about his future contract with Dallas.
As free agency approaches, the organization faces pressure to secure his services with a significant extension. The receiver’s next opportunity to go past Smith-Njigba arrives Thursday when the Cowboys host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving.
