Cristiano Ronaldo debuts new celebration after goal for Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo ditched his iconic ‘Siu’ celebration after finding the net for Al Nassr against Al Najma.
The Portuguese superstar gave his side an early lead from the penalty spot in Al Nassr’s Saudi Pro League victory, before wheeling away to mark his 21st league strike of the season.

Slam dunk
For years, fans have grown used to seeing Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration – a trademark that sees him run and jump before doing 180-degree turn and landing with a powerful stance.
But he had a surprise up his sleeve on Wednesday night, as he introduced the Al Najma crowd to a new move.
After dispatching his spot-kick, the 41-year-old ran towards the corner flag before raising his hand in the air.
With many expecting to see his usual celebration, Ronaldo instead began to jump and flick his wrist, mimicking a basketball shot.
It is not clear what inspired the celebration, but basketball fans will no doubt have enjoyed the football superstar’s nod to their sport.
Ronaldo’s early strike got Al Nassr off to a strong start, and they never looked back after getting their noses in front en route to a 5-0 thumping.
Kingsley Coman doubled the visitors’ lead on 32 minutes, before Inigo Martinez’s long-range effort put them 3-0 up on the stroke of half time.
Knowing a victory would see them leapfrog Al Ahli at the top of the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr were just as rampant after the break.
Ex-Liverpool star Sadio Mane made it 4-0 just minutes into the second half, before Martinez made it five in the 80th minute.
This rounded off a miserable evening for bottom-of-the-league Al Najma, who have just eight points on the board and sit eight adrift of safety.

Ronaldo eyeing record
While Ronaldo celebrated in style after giving Al Nassr the lead from the spot, this ultimately proved his only goal of the night.
Chasing the league’s Golden Boot award, the Real Madrid and Manchester United great will be disappointed not to have added more to his account.
Despite notching a staggering 21 goals in as many games, Ronaldo currently sits third in the Saudi Pro League’s goalscoring charts.
Leading the way is England striker Ivan Toney, who has netted a whopping 23 times this season for Al Ahli.
Behind Toney in second is Al Qadsiah’s Julian Quinones, with the duo potentially standing between Ronaldo and another career record.
The forward entered the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League season off the back of consecutive Golden Boot awards.

Ronaldo fired in 35 goals in 31 league games in the 2023/24 campaign, before following this up with 25 in 30 outings last term.
And should he win the Golden Boot again, it would mark the first time in Saudi Pro League history a European player has taken out the gong for three seasons in a row.
If Ronaldo needed any extra motivation to keep on banging in the goals, the prospect of a first Saudi Pro League title will serve as fuel.
Since his move to the Middle East in 2023, he has lifted just one trophy since his arrival in, winning the Arab Club Champions Cup in his first year.
But after opening up a two-point lead at the top of the table, Ronaldo will be hoping Al Nassr can stay keep this up through to May, as he targets an eighth league title in his historic career.
