Conor Benn makes dramatic U-turn on Chris Eubank Jr trilogy stance
Conor Benn has changed his stance on a potential rubber match with Chris Eubank Jr.
‘The Destroyer’ avenged his defeat to Eubank Jr in November with a near-shutout unanimous decision win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With their rivalry now split at one apiece, many anticipated an inevitable trilogy bout.
However, Benn was quick to shut down such talk in the immediate aftermath.
“It’s been some journey, and I feel like this is the end of the Benn-Eubank saga,” he told assembled media at the post-fight press conference.
“It’s done and finished. It’s over. This ends here.”
Eubank Jr has since announced his intentions to move back up to super middleweight after insinuating that his difficulty in making the 160lbs limit and the subsequent 10lbs rehydration clause had cost him the rematch.
Keen to erase any shred of doubt in the public’s minds that he is, in fact, the better boxer, Benn admitted to Sky Sports that he would be open to running it back with his bitter rival.
“Would I fight him at super middleweight?” Benn pondered.
“Part of me is like, ‘You know what, the first fight wasn’t who I am.’
“So, would I fight Eubank at his weight? A weight he is comfortable with and has no excuses? Yeah, I would.
“Thinking about it, I would fight him at 168. Not for any other reason than to beat him so convincingly again.

“I am just the better boxer, I have better ring IQ, I’m faster, I punch harder, I have better endurance, in every sector I am better than him.
“It’s just something personal with Chris and me, and there will always be something there.
“I respect Chris, I do respect him.”
Conor Benn’s next fight
A third fight with Eubank Jr is an afterthought for now.
Benn recently stunned the boxing world by ditching long-time promoter Eddie Hearn to sign a lucrative one-fight deal with Dana White‘s Zuffa Boxing.
According to reports, Zuffa are looking to stage a show in the United Kingdom on May 31 with Benn as the headliner.

Bouts against WBO super lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson and WBC welterweight titlist Ryan Garcia are both genuine possibilities.
Stevenson is currently a free agent, while Garcia claims that his contract with Golden Boy came to an end after his lopsided win over Mario Barrios at the weekend.
