Commonwealth Games radio commentary: How to listen to Glasgow 2026 on talkSPORT

One of the biggest multi-sport events is upon us, with some of the world’s best athletes preparing for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Twelve years on from the iconic 2014 event, the showpiece Games is back in Scotland.

Around 3,000 elite competitors from 74 different nations are preparing to compete across the host city over 11 days of action.

Star power will be on full display, ranging from England’s sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, to three-time Olympic gold medallist swimmer Adam Peaty.

There will be 215 gold medals up for grabs across 10 core sports, with the best athletes from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and many more.

Key commentaries throughout the tournament will be on those social channels, as we take our Commonwealth Games coverage to the next level.

Who will be commentating?

As mentioned, commentary will span across the 11 days of the competition.

Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford will be part of the coverage, alongside Natalie Sawyer, who will be presenting the Commonwealth Games Kick Off each evening from 7pm.

John Cushing will be trackside each evening interviewing the winners as well as updating listeners on talkSPORT throughout the day.

They will be joined by Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu, who will be part of the athletics commentary.

Lewis Richardson will be providing his insights on the boxing competition following his Bronze Olympic medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

2022 Commonwealth Games cycling medalist Georgia Holt will be reporting at events across Glasgow.

Meanwhile, four-time Commonwealth medallist Molly Renshaw will be offering analysis at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

talkSPORT’s Nigel Adderley, Joe Shennan and Alfie Reynolds will be commentating on swimming, boxing and track cycling with Georgie Heath working across other sports including gymnastics, basketball and netball.

Olympic champion and Team England’s Commonwealth Games President Denise Lewis spoke ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games: “I’ve got a fondness, a love of the Commonwealth Games because of my memories.

“It’s always been part of my journeying as an athlete, so to become the Commonwealth Games President for England was a huge honour.”

She added: ” The atmosphere is going to be loud, it’s going to rock. I think the athletes know that home advantage means something.

“Although it’s in Scotland, it’s still a domestic UK Games, and I think that Team England are going to go out there and embrace it.”
