Christian Watson gets $110.5 million contract extension that has Packers fans dumbfounded
The Green Bay Packers have high hopes for the 2026 season. Green Bay will be on a warpath after losing to Chicago in the playoffs last season. The Packers just made a huge transaction that has some fans dumbfounded.
The Packers and wide receiver Christian Watson agreed to four-year, $110.5 million contract extension on Thursday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It includes a $31 million signing bonus.
Watson is coming off a season where he logged 35 receptions for 611 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
Packers fans do not sound happy about this announcement. Multiple fans took to social media immediately after the announcement to voice their confusion.
“Why did they pay him now? Wait until he actually has an elite season. Now he wont be motivated,” one fan argued.
“Am I tripping or is this not crazy?” another fan asked.
