Chelsea v Manchester United LIVE commentary: Rescheduled kick-off time and team news

Chelsea welcome Manchester United on Saturday evening as the race for the Champions League heats up, live on talkSPORT.

The Blues have lost four of their last five top-flight matches, and the teams below them are sensing a chance to finish above Chelsea.

Liam Rosenior enjoyed a good start as Chelsea manager, but in a short period of time, it has all gone wrong.

They are only six points ahead of Newcastle United in 14th place, so unless they pick up form, there is a chance of no European football at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Man United are sat in third and are looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford to their bitter rivals Leeds United.

It was a first home loss for Michael Carrick as interim Red Devils boss, but they are still in a good place to get back among Europe’s elite.

Chelsea vs Man United: Date and how to follow

This Premier League game will take place on Saturday, April 18.

Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is scheduled for 8pm.

The game was initially set for 3pm on the same day, but it has been selected for TV coverage, so it’s been moved with TNT having two TV selections this weekend.

The contest will be live on talkSPORT, with Faye Carruthers your host.

Commentary will then come from Sam Matterface and England icon Stuart Pearce.

Chelsea’s place in sixth is definitely not secure

Chelsea vs Man United: Team news

The Blues are set to welcome Enzo Fernandez back from his two-match ban enforced by the club.

Fernandez spoke up Madrid during the international break, and was subsequently banned by Rosenior.

But he will be available for selection this weekend.

Meanwhile, Reece James is still recovering from a hamstring injury, so this is likely to be too soon for him.

Levi Colwill, Jamie Gittens, Trevoh Chalobah and Filip Jorgensen remain out.

For Man United, Harry Maguire returns from suspension after his red card against Bournemouth.

But Lisandro Martinez will sit this one out after being sent off for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair.

Kobie Mainoo picked up a small injury in training and is an early doubt.

Patrick Dorgu and Matthijs de Ligt are out until the end of the month.

Chelsea vs Man United: What has been said?

Following Martinez’s red card, Carrick felt it was one of the worst decisions he’s ever seen.

He said: “It’s not a pull, it’s not a tug, it’s not aggressive, he touches it and gets sent off. Worst of all is he was sent to overturn it as a clear and obvious error. It’s shocking.

“He’s off-balance because of that, he half touches the back of his hair which pulls the bobble out and leads it to look like – I don’t even know what it looks like.

“That’s two games in a row we’ve had those decisions go against us, but that one was one of the worst I’ve seen.”

Meanwhile, Rosenior took responsibility for Man City’s 3-0 win over them at weekend.

And he admitted that leaving Fernandez out didn’t help.

“Enzo’s a top player and he’s a top character and I’m looking forward to having him back next week.

“Sometimes you make decisions not based on the short-term, you make decisions based on what you want to see long-term.

“And it was a long-term decision that myself, the directors and the club were aligned with the leadership group of players that we made to make sure that our values and our culture in the long-term is in the right place.

“But Enzo has had the conversations he’s needed to have. He’s been fantastic in the last few days in supporting myself and the team and I can’t wait to have him back in the squad.”
