Charles Barkley hilariously can’t pronounce Knicks star OG Anunoby’s real name

The New York Knicks moved within one win from their first NBA Finals appearance in 27 seasons after a 121-108 Game 3 win at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland. While Jalen Brunson was once again the star of the night with 30 points, OG Anunoby had 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists in what was a commanding all-around display.

Still, Anunoby may have produced the highlight of the day during his post-game interview with Charles Barkley, who hilariously struggled to pronounce his real name, per a post on X by ClutchPoints.

“OG, can I ask you a question? What is your real name?” he initially asked, with the rest of the studio bursting into laughter.
Anunoby, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, reluctantly answered.

“My real name is Ogugua,” he replied.

Barkley then proceeded to hilariously accuse Anunoby of not saying his “name right,” leading to another reluctant smile from the player. That was when Ernie Johnson intervened, claiming that more important was the fact that Anunoby has been shooting at a whopping 59% overall and 51% from the three-point zone in the postseason thus far.

Those strengths were on display in Game 3 as well, with Anunoby converting three of his four three-pointers on the night, going 6-10 from the field overall. New York were also efficient as a unit, going 55.9% overall as Mikal Bridges also scored 21 with 11-15 shooting, also producing six rebounds, three steals and two assists.

The Cavaliers are now just one loss away from elimination, with no team in NBA history having won a postseason series after going 3-0 down. Donovan Mitchell suffered from a poor shooting night, going 9-21 overall despite scoring 23 points.

James Harden went 8-15 for his 19 points while Evan Mobley led the Cavs in scoring with 24 points off 10-18 shooting. However, he could only convert one of his six three-pointers as Cleveland once again had only themselves to blame for what is likely to be a season-concluding defeat.
