Celtics’ Jaylen Brown drops ‘real journalism’ truth on Stephen A. Smith amid NSFW rant

Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown isn’t done addressing ESPN analyst Stephen A Smith, as the 2024 Finals MVP clapped back at his recent comments about his future in Boston. Smith suggested Brown leave the Celtics after losing a 3-1 lead in a first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Jaylen accused the NBA analyst of trying to drive a wedge between him and Boston.

For that, Brown attacked Smith for his journalistic approach and doubled down on telling Smith to retire, he said, on his Twitch stream

“F*** Stephen A,” Brown bluntly stated. “My offer still stands. You want me to be quiet and stop streaming. I want you to be quiet and get off these networks. You’re not using your platform to do real journalism. You’re using your platform to use clickbait.”

Brown didn’t hold back on Smith, which will most likely prompt a response, albeit on ESPN’s First Take or on Smith’s podcast.

ESPN analyst Stephen A Smith’s initial response to the Celtics’ Jaylen Brown was that it was a bad look for him to complain about a blown 3-1 series lead in his best-of-7 series against the 76ers, via Twitch streams. Smith didn’t hold back with his mic-drop response to Brown, per X (formerly, Twitter).

“Bro, I got love for you, so I’m not going to even go there. Folks are looking out for you, and you don’t even realize it. Here you are making this kind of noise, and it hasn’t even been a week since you lost a 3-1 lead. You’re HOME,” Smith said. “A champion and a Finals MVP saying his favorite season is the season he’s home in the FIRST ROUND. This is not about ME. It’s about YOU….and what YOU SAID. Enjoy your offseason.”

Clearly, Brown hasn’t taken the advice, as he’d continued his Twitch streams after losing Game 7 to the Sixers.
