Cavs’ Cade Cunningham gives flowers to ‘all-timer’ James Harden after Game 3

Cade Cunningham delivered his props to James Harden following the latter’s clutch heroics in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Game 3 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday afternoon.

In 40 minutes of action, Harden scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to get Cleveland the win. He shot 8-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, while having seven assists and two rebounds in the process.

Cunningham reflected on Harden’s performance after the game. He labeled the veteran star as an all-time great, knowing how his skillset paves the way for him to excel throughout many games, including this latest contest.

“He’s an all-timer. An isolation scorer is what he’s comfortable doing. I thought we’ve done a good job on him. But obviously, guy’s getting a rhythm, and they’re able to play with the ball and get a rhythm going, they’ll make shots. So he did a great job finishing the game tonight, keeping us out of reach,” Cunningham said.

How James Harden, Cavaliers played against Pistons

James Harden and the Cavaliers avoid the sweep with the Game 3 win over the Pistons. However, they must continue defending homecourt moving forward in this series.

Detroit started slow as the team went down 64-48 at halftime. They fought back with a 33-19 display in the third quarter, but Cleveland made more big plays down the stretch to obtain the home victory.

Shot accuracy made the difference in this matchup. The Cavaliers prevailed in this category by making 58% of their total shots, while the Pistons converted 45% of all their shot attempts.

Five players scored in double-digits for Cleveland in the win, including Harden. Donovan Mitchell led the attack with 35 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. He shot 13-of-24 overall, including 2-of-8 from downtown, and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Jarrett Allen came next with 18 points and four rebounds, Evan Mobley had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Dennis Schroder provided 11 points and two steals.

The Cavaliers will look to even up the series at two games apiece when they host the Pistons in Game 4. The contest takes place on May 11 at 8 p.m. ET.
