This clash is unbelievably close in the betting and as such it’s no surprise that punters are also quite split on who can win this one.

The two Championship sides are well-equipped to make a big impact this season but so far only Boro have shown that in the opening three games.

Burnley have lost two of their last three and have only come away with a point so far, putting them right into the relegation zone early on in the new 2026/27 campaign.

It would be hard to side with Burnley as a result bet, after they lost 3-1 and 4-1 in successive games.

Considering they did well to overturn a 2-0 deficit to come back and draw 2-2 against West Ham many expected a brighter performance since.

Boro will be facing another away game and despite recent form you can’t just expect Burnley to be as poor as they have been in their last two.

Boro’s only loss was away at Blackburn where they sacrificed a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 thanks to two quick goals after the restart.

Boro’s Will Lankshear netted a brace last time out though and he’s got to be considered to give the Clarets back line another tough outing.

The number 7 also netted a crucial brace in their opening game of the season helping to overturn a 1-0 deficit as well as netting the last minute winner.

Their defence suggests there should be another couple of goals in this game even if it comes from both sides.

Cards, corners and result betting

Boro didn’t receive a single yellow card in their big clash against West Brom, who also started the season well, then against Blackburn received just one, then in their 2-1 win over Lincoln, received none again.

Their record so far surely has to continue and with just one card picked up in their last three games it’s a clear choice to go for unders.

As for corners, they’ve accumulated 18, where ten of those came against Blackburn.

That game itself shows they could have done better as well with much more attacking football, chances, possession (71%) and were hit by Rovers who just were able to be clinical on the day.

That also signals a clear choice on Boro to win or a draw which would be a solid result for them away from home at Turf Moor.
