Bronny James shares ‘crazy’ reaction to dad LeBron joining Steph Curry and the Warriors

LeBron James’ next big Decision currently has the NBA in a choke-hold.

King James is currently an unrestricted free agent having announced his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers in late June.

However, the 41-year-old veteran is yet to make a decision on his next team, which has had a major knock-on effect on the rest of The Association as teams and GMs stall on prospective roster moves as they wait for the James domino to officially fall.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer has been linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, and Miami Heat amid his search for a fifth NBA championship ring.

The Heat, in particular, caused a stir recently after ‘announcing’ James’ return before quickly backtracking and claiming it was a mistake.

Bronny James admits LeBron joining the Warriors with Curry would be ‘crazy’

LeBron’s departure from Tinseltown means he will no longer be playing alongside eldest son, Bronny, who continues to wear the famous purple and gold.

Bronny was recently asked about his father’s upcoming free agency decision, and in particular, how ‘crazy’ it’d be if he joined forces with Steph Curry in Golden State.

“Man, I don’t know where he is going. But that’d be crazy if he did,” said Bronny after being asked by a fan about the prospect of his dad moving to the Bay Area.

LeBron joining Curry would no doubt delight basketball fans around the globe, especially after watching the pair light up the Paris Olympics in 2024 en route to a gold medal.

The iconic pair have a long-held mutual admiration, however, the potential of LeBron linking up with his former adversary seems to be diminishing the more times goes on.

Early reports suggested James’s move to the Warriors was contingent on Golden State trading for LeBron’s former Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, who’s now with the Washington Wizards.

However, the Davis trade talks have stalled in recent weeks, with Washington reluctant to move Davis on and Golden State wary of Davis’ extensive injury history.

NBA insider Anthony Slater has even claimed that the Warriors are no longer working under the assumption that James will join them.

“Did you hear Rich Paul [LeBron’s agent] start that with saying ‘in the event’? The Warriors are pessimistic about that event.” Slater said.

“Really, since the beginning, they’ve not thought they’re at the top of the list. I talked to somebody last night who basically said they’ve been given no sign or hint that it’s gonna happen.”

“While we know LeBron has been difficult at times to contact directly in this process. Stephen Curry clearly has contacted him directly, and Draymond Green has been vacationing with him. So I would think that the Warriors would know by now if it’s leaning one way or the other.

“All of my indications from the Warriors side are that they believe it is not leaning towards them. They’re keeping a roster spot open and would love to have him, but they’re not planning for it,” Slater said in his recent appearance on ESPN’s NBA Today.

LeBron reportedly ‘irritated’ by Silver’s public pressure

NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently put pressure on LeBron to make a decision imminently, saying at the CNBC Sport x Boardroom: Game Plan Summit in New York, “I would like [James] to make his announcement already, so we can finish the schedule.”

“We have to finish up the schedule and where LeBron plays affects the schedule … opening week, Christmas. So I need him to make a decision.”

According to Andy Baskin of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, James’ camp was ‘irritated’ by Silver’s comments, and he was actually ready to announce his choice last week, until Silver publicly pressured him to decide.

“There’s a little bit of irritation,” Baskin said. “Irritated was the word that I was told, irritated by the commissioner pushing them. …It may not just be LeBron, but it it it’s more about LeBron’s group together, so that the irritation got to the point they were like, ‘Well, you know what? We’ll decide when LeBron is going to tell everyone where he’s going.’ So they decided to hold back on making their next decision, their next move on where they want to play or where LeBron wants to play.”

James’ agent Paul said he spoke privately with Silver after his comments.

“I saw Adam in New York and we discussed it,” Paul said. “And like I said, it’s still his choice. So if he doesn’t really know, you can’t rush it. You can’t rush it.

Warriors veteran and close friend of LeBron, Draymond Green, also shared his thoughts on Silver rushing James.

“Adam saying that is not gonna speed up LeBron’s decision at all,” Green said on his show. “If I know Bron well, if anything, it might slow his decision down a little more, because that’s just how Bron is.”

The wait goes on.
