Brewers’ Brice Turang launches walk-off homer to beat Yankees in extra innings

With a 4-3 victory on Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers have officially swept the New York Yankees. They have Brice Turang’s bat to thank for their latest win.

The Brewers were down to their final out when Turang stepped up to the plate. He then smashed a curveball to deep center field to secure victory for Milwaukee.

The Yankees got out to a 2-0 lead thanks in part to an Aaron Judge home run. But the Brewers fought back with a three-run fourth inning. While a Jazz Chisholm home run tied the game in the sixth, Turang had an answer of his own in the ninth. The second baseman went 2-for-4 overall.

Milwaukee ended their sweep with back-to-back walk off wins, using their home field advantage to the fullest. The Brewers now hold a 22-16 record and sit 3.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. They’ll hope sweeping the Yankees, and winning their last four games overall, will give the team some extra motivation heading into their next series against the San Diego Padres.

In their quest to climb up the standings, the Brewers will be heavily relying on Turang. He entered Sunday’s matchup hitting .291 with five home runs, 22 RBIs and eight stolen bases. Turang ranked second on the team in RBIs and stolen bases and third in batting average amongst batters with 10+ games played. His .420 on base percentage leads the National League.

The Brewers have won the NL Central the past three seasons. But they have yet to win an NL Pennant. With Turang help their cause, Milwaukee will keep battling to ensure 2026 becomes the season they break through to the World Series.
