Birmingham confirm striker Marvin Ducksch charged with drink driving offence as statement released
Birmingham City have confirmed striker Marvin Ducksch was charged by police for a drink driving offence.
Ducksch was a notable absentee from the Blues’ matchday squad on Sunday as they beat promotion hopefuls Wrexham 2-0 in the Championship.

Second-half goals from Carlos Vicente and Christoph Klarer did the business for Chris Davies’ side as they avoided a fourth-straight league defeat.
Davies was asked about Ducksch’s omission following the win over Wrexham and replied: “Marvin was (missing) today because of a decision of mine in terms of the selection of the squad.
“It’s an internal matter which is currently being dealt with and that is, at this moment in time, all I can say.”
Davies added he could not confirm whether Ducksch would be involved in the Blues’ trip to Hull City on April 18.
The reason for the player’s absence last weekend has now been confirmed as a drink driving charge for Ducksch.
The Club can confirm that Marvin Ducksch has been charged in relation to an offence of driving with excess alcohol,” a club statement read.
“Marvin wishes to apologise to his teammates, staff and supporters of the club and accepts full responsibility for his actions.
“The matter has been dealt with internally and no further comment will be made at this time.”
Ducksch is in his first season at St Andrews having joined last August.
The German, who arrived from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen, moved to the Blues on a three-year deal.

Ducksch has netted 11 times for Birmingham in 35 games across all competitions, with ten goals coming in the Championship.
His last appearance for Davies’ side came via a nine-minute cameo off the bench in a 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town on April 6.
