Bears QB Caleb Williams reveals ‘back-to-back’ Madden goal to Travis, Jason Kelce
Fans of the Chicago Bears just got one more reason to be excited about the 2026 season. Bears QB Caleb Williams is officially the cover athlete for Madden 27. Chicago’s franchise quarterback plans to use that as motivation to have another special season in 2026.
Williams shared one ambitious goal that would be a first in Madden history.
“Dream come true,” Williams told Travis and Jason Kelce via New Heights. “They never had two back to back, so let’s see if we can go and make it back to back this year.”
The news of Williams being on the cover was leaked on May 31st.
The actual photo on the base version of the game is Caleb in his Jumpman pose with the Chicago skyline behind him. He admitted that it was an obvious reference to Michael Jordan.
“That was the whole thing,” Williams added. “I was like, everybody knows the Air Jordan like the sunrise of him doing his Air Jordan with the skyline behind him. I was like I wanna recreate it, football, bring it back 30 years later or however many years later.”
Reading between the lines, Williams plans to have a huge season later this fall. It is simply the only way that he could repeat as Madden’s cover athlete next summer.
At least one NFL insider, NFL Network’s Stacey Dales, believes Caleb could take another big step forward in 2026.
“We saw an exponential jump last season with this offense under Ben Johnson and the development of Caleb Williams,” Dales said. “I expect another exponential jump… When you talk about where they’re at, the confidence is already soaring… I’m buying stock in this entire Chicago offense. I expect their numbers to go up.”
It will be exciting to see if Williams really can take his game to another level later this fall.
