Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin predictions
Bayern Munich breezed into the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of Atalanta last time out.
Already 6-1 up on aggregate heading into the second leg at the Allianz Arena, Vincent Kompany’s side did not take their foot off the gas in front of their own fans, winning 4-1 on the night to complete a 10-2 triumph over two legs.
Atalanta simply could not prevent being blown away by Bayern, and the same can be said for many of the latter’s opponents in the Bundesliga this term.
Union Berlin are not one of them. The club from the capital held Bayern to a 2-2 draw back in November, becoming the first team to take points off the champions this season.
It could have been an even better day for Union, who were denied what would have been a memorable win when Harry Kane equalised for Bayern in second-half stoppage time.
That is one of five occasions on which Bayern have failed to win in the Bundesliga in 2025/26. Another occurred last weekend when they drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen.
In the circumstances that was an excellent result for the league leaders, who ended the game with nine men.
Leverkusen were handed a numerical advantage as early as the 42nd minute, with Nicolas Jackson given his marching orders.
Bayern were a goal and a player down at that point, but they fought back and restored parity through Luis Diaz in the 69th minute. Diaz himself was dismissed for a second yellow card late on, but Bayern held on for a point.
Borussia Dortmund therefore gained ground on Bayern last weekend, but a nine-point deficit will surely be too much to overturn at this late stage of the campaign.
Still, Bayern must continue playing as if they are neck and neck with Dortmund. Losing focus at this stage of the season could be fatal, not necessarily in the Bundesliga but potentially in the Champions League.
You cannot turn form on and off like a tap, so some sloppy showings at home could easily seep into Bayern’s performances on the continent, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain in the last eight.
The Bavarians no doubt want to get the title wrapped up as quickly as possible so they are free to focus on Europe. A victory over Union Berlin would be a step in the right direction.
Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin betting tips
Bayern Munich have another Bundesliga victory in their sights when they face Union Berlin.
Bayern to dominate
Union Berlin are seven points clear of the relegation zone and seven points adrift of seventh place, which will probably be enough for Conference League qualification.
While neither demotion nor Europe is particularly likely, Union will nonetheless be determined to finish as high up the table as possible.
Notwithstanding their spirited showing against Bayern Munich earlier in the campaign, Union are bound to come unstuck this weekend.
Very few visiting teams leave the Allianz Arena with a positive result. Bayern won both halves against Atalanta and they can repeat the feat here.

Three goals for hosts?
Bayern Munich scored 101 goals in the 1971/72 season, which remains a Bundesliga record all these years later.
Not for much longer, though. Kompany’s side look set to smash past that tally in the coming weeks.
With eight games left to play, Bayern have already found the net 93 times. If they were to maintain their current rate of scoring for the rest of the season, Bayern would end 2025/26 on 122 goals.
The champions have scored more than 2.5 goals in 77 percent of their league games up to now, so this bet looks like decent value.

Kane is unstoppable
Harry Kane marked his return to the Bayern Munich starting XI with a brace against Atalanta on Wednesday.
Those two goals moved him onto 47 for the season, with Kane doubtless targeting a half-century before the March international break.
A hat-trick is eminently possible given his exploits over the last few months, but a safer bet is backing Kane to score twice or more.
After all, this is a player who has notched at least a double in each of his last four starts.
