The Newcastle winger is currently the second highest scoring in the Champions League this season, with only Kylian Mbappe having scored more, with the England international having bagged 10 goals in just eight starts in Europe.

The 25-year-old has already scored against Barcelona once this season having bagged against the Spanish side on the opening night of the league phase, and bagged FOUR goals in his last start in the competition.

Barcelona, meanwhile, will have been relieved to leave Tyneside with a draw after being second best for large spells, and they carried that momentum into the weekend with an emphatic 5-2 win over Sevilla – their fifth victory in six games.

The result restored Hansi Flick’s side’s four-point lead at the top of La Liga and ensures they approach Wednesday’s encounter full of confidence as they target a third successive Champions League quarter-final appearance.

The Blaugrana have been particularly dominant at home this season, winning 19 of their 20 matches in all competitions, including each of their 12 games at Camp Nou since returning to the stadium in November.

History also favours the Spanish side, who have won four of their last five meetings with Newcastle. The Magpies have not beaten Barcelona since 1997, and on their last visit to Camp Nou, they were defeated 3-1.
