AUS W vs IND W 2026: India Women squad announced, Shreyanka Patil, Bharti Fulmali make T20 return

Amid an action-packed Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, the BCCI has announced India Women's squad for the upcoming Tour of Australia. Bharti Fulmali and Shreyanka Patil have made their way back into the Indian women’s T20I setup ahead of the forthcoming tour. The pair joins a strong squad led by Harmanpreet Kaur as the Indians ready themselves for the white-ball tour Down Under. 

Fulmali, on the other hand, returns to the T20I fold for the first time since 2019, after a strong run in the WPL 2026. The middle-order batter has delivered impactful cameos this season, posting quickfire contributions that eventually helped her clinch a recall. She is having a superb season with the bat, scoring 92 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 191.66 for the Gujarat Giants. Fulmali also had a stellar season in last year’s edition as well, where she scored 133 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 172.72

Offspinner Shreyanka, who is representing RCB right now, is also back in the mix following a lengthy injury lay-off that saw her miss significant action in 2025. The 23-year-old impressed with her decisive performances in the WPL 2026, including a five-wicket haul, earning her a spot in the T20I squad for the Australia challenge. She last represented the Women in Blue during the 2024 T20 World Cup. 

The selectors have tweaked both limited-overs squads slightly from the team that faced Sri Lanka in December. Vaishnavi Sharma, who impressed everyone with a solid performance against SL and teenage wicketkeeper G Kamalini, has been handed maiden ODI call-ups, while Kashvee Gautam joins the 50-over lineup. In contrast, Harleen Deol has been omitted from the T20I squad, and the experienced Radha Yadav misses out altogether.
