At SummerSlam 2026, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns seemingly ended their longstanding WWE feud. However, could there be another match in the works?

Speaking to ESPN New York (via Fightful), Rollins was unsure if his match at WWE SummerSlam was his last against Reigns. He feels it was the conclusion to the story of betrayal from their days in The Shield, but he refused to shut the door completely.

“I don’t know that that’s the case,” he conceded, explaining, “I think it closed the loop on The Shield, the betrayal story. I think it closed the loop on that, I felt it allowed both of our characters to move in different directions so that we’re not tethered to that chair shot from twelve years ago.

“We can kind of take the characters — and we have over the years, but there’s always been that through line. Now, it feels like that’s sort of, for better or for worse, complete. I’m 40, Roman is 41. We still got time. We’re still in the prime of our careers, so never say never. I think you could always come back to it, I don’t think either of us are going anywhere from the top of the card anytime soon. As long as there are titles to be won and legacies to be made, I can see it happening again,” Rollins continued.

In the same interview, he called the match a “core moment” of his career. He also conceded that there was “pressure” on them to deliver. Rollins and Reigns didn't have the other third of The Shield, Dean Ambrose (aka Jon Moxley), to fully close the book on their story.

Ultimately, Rollins felt “really, really good” with the end result. He might have lost, but he appears proud of his work. Rollins and Reigns' feud has lasted over a decade since the “Visionary” betrayed the “Tribal Chief” years ago.
