The Detroit Lions' Jack Campbell suffered a scary neck injury during the team's 19-15 win over their fierce NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings. Campbell was stretchered off and transported to a local hospital to be evaluated.

Campbell's Lions teammate Aidan Hutchinson was seen in tears following the incident. And it remained emotional after the game as head coach Dan Campbell addressed the team in the locker room.

“I do not have any more information on Jack. We don't know anything else at this point. So here's what I want to do. We're gonna take a knee. Now I wanna pray for Jack, okay? And let's keep him in our thoughts and prayers,” Campbell said.

The Lions' latest update on Campbell's status is that he will remain in the hospital for continued evaluation.

Despite the emotional loss of Campbell, the Lions rallied to hand the previously undefeated Vikings their first defeat of the season. The Lions running game, led by Jahmyr Gibbs, absolutely carved up the Vikings defense with 230 rushing yards. Quarterback Jared Goff then came up clutch with the game-winning touchdown pass to Jameson Williams.

Neck injuries are always dangerous, and the hope is that Campbell does not suffer any potentially life-altering effects from his injury. Nevertheless, he is likely set to miss a significant period of time, which will be a blow to the Lions. It will be up to Lions head coach Dan Campbell to keep the Detroit defense playing at a high level without their All-Pro linebacker potentially for the foreseeable future.
