The United States has won the Presidents Cup

There would be no Miracle at Medinah Part II.

Despite things looking treacherous for the American side over most of the weekend, the United States stood tall on Sunday and defeated the International Team by a final score of 17-13 to win the Presidents Cup.

The Americans took 9.5 of Sunday’s 12 possible points and left no doubt over something that truly was up in the air. Give credit to the International Team for making it a race, but the Americans dug in when they absolutely had to.

It would have been a complete and utter disaster had the United States lost this event, and it would have hung over American golf at large for the next year in advance of the 2027 Ryder Cup.

Perhaps flirting with the loss will be enough to apply the necessary changes because there certainly are some that need to be incorporated moving forward.

For now… the Americans are winners once more.
