Rose Zhang sees purpose and meaning in WTGL
Opportunities are always welcome.
This is a common theme among people at large. Whether you are talking about in professional or personal life, when opportunity knocks you want to make sure that you answer.
Or do you? It sounds sacrilegious to some when you talk about turning down things that wind up in front of you, but when you listen to LPGA Tour star Rose Zhang talk about the idea… you might change your mind.
Rose took some time to join SB Nation this week on behalf of an opportunity that she was very excited about capitalizing on… WTGL.
Zhang is a part of New York Golf Club, alongside fellow friend of SB Nation in Linn Grant, in the new WTGL league that is set to launch on November 8th this year on ESPN. You can view their entire schedule right here. New York will take on Los Angeles Golf Club in the inaugural match.
As noted Zhang will be a part of things and she expressed that she was extremely excited at the chance simply to be involved. At only 23 years old Rose has already experienced a lot of what professional life has to offer, and her whole point in our conversation was that she wants to make sure that the things she chooses to align herself with have purpose. WTGL certainly checks that box.
On the male side of professional golf, TGL has provided an entirely new sector of fans an opportunity to fall in love with the game that means so much to all of us. WTGL has the potential to do the same thing and particularly in a moment where women’s sports are really thriving.
Rose is one of the more fun and interesting personalities on the LPGA Tour and WTGL’s format allows for the viewing audience to get to see that side of things all the more. It is only a matter of time until everyone realizes that Rose Zhang is someone who they want to align with as well.
