Would it be Tyson Bagent or Case Keenum in the starting lineup for the Bears on Sunday against the Jets?
Why not both?
The ever-cheeky Ben Johnson put both players on the field for the Bears’ opening drive. Keenum served as the quarterback, and Bagent split wide.
Keenum handed the ball off, and then he exited.
The move technically keeps the Bears from joining the 1997 Jaguars with three different starting quarterbacks in four games. But, still, it’s Bagent at quarterback.
Starter Caleb Williams is missing his second straight game with a hamstring injury.
As Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported earlier in the day, Johnson told the team on Wednesday that Bagent would be the starter. He asked them to keep the information in-house.
It worked until Friday morning, when we heard that Bagent had gotten the first-team reps on Wednesday and Thursday.
