Texas Tech took a 28-7 win over Colorado on Saturday. During the game, Cameron Dickey left in the first half due to an injury. Dickey had been splitting carries with J'Koby Williams before leaving the game.
Now, Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire is giving an update on the running back, per Cory Whitman of The Daily Toreador.
“Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire said Cam Dickey’s x-rays came back negative and is most likely a high ankle sprain,” Whitman posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Dickey is second on the team in rushing so far this year. Williams leads the team with 63 carries for 373 yards and three touchdowns. Quinten Joyner has also been solid when getting carries. He has run the ball 35 times for 152 yards and two scores.
With the injury being an ankle sprain, he will miss time, but if he were going to be injured, this was the best time for it to happen. Texas Tech is off this upcoming week before facing Arizona State, Cincinnati, and Arizona. Texas Tech could have Dickey back when they hit the road to face Oklahoma in mid-November.
Texas Tech is 5-0 this year, one of three remaining undefeated teams in the Big 12. Meanwhile, they are 2-0 in conference play, tied for the top spot with BYU and Baylor. Texas Tech is currently a top-ten team in the nation.
