On Saturday, the LSU football program continued its winning ways in the 2026 college football season with a blowout home victory over McNeese State by a score of 63-14. The Tigers now sit at 4-1 on the season as they prepare to resume SEC play next week.

Despite the blowout win, head coach Lane Kiffin wasn't all smiles after the game on Saturday, as he took issue with wide receiver Winnie Witkins' drop issues during a halftime interview.

“One player, Winnie Watkins, drops two touchdowns… Put a freshman in behind him and he went and scored two touchdowns, so that was good to see…” he said, per 247Sports on X, formerly Twitter, via the SEC Network.

It was certainly surprising to see Kiffin put a player on blast by name during a nationally televised interview, but clearly, he wasn't thrilled with Witkins' dropping two potential touchdowns, even though the team didn't exactly need them in order to pick up the win over McNeese.

Corey Barber Jr. ended up hauling in the two touchdowns that Kiffin alluded to later on in the interview.

As previously mentioned, LSU now sits at 4-1 on the season and seems to have fully put their tough road loss against the Ole Miss Rebels in the rearview mirror. Last week, the Tigers demolished the Texas A&M Aggies at home and are currently ranked as the number 11 team in the country, with the latest edition of the poll yet to be revealed.

In any case, the Tigers will next hit the field next Saturday for what could be a tough road game against the Kentucky Wildcats.
