The Georgia football program improved to 5-0 over the weekend with a blowout home victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Bulldogs got off to a sluggish start to this one, only leading by seven heading into the locker room for halftime, but ended up pulling away in the second frame for a 38-14 win.

Up next for Georgia is a road game against Alabama, who was mightily impressive in dispatching Mississippi State on Saturday, but recently, head coach Kirby Smart kept things even-keeled when discussing the big matchup.

“It's the next week in the SEC, guys. The week after that one, there's another week. They're all big. There's not one that's not big,” he said, per Radi Nabulsi of On3 Sports on X, formerly Twitter.

Last year, Smart defeated Alabama for the second time in his career, this time in the SEC Championship Game, but it ended up being the last win of the season for Georgia, which went on to lose in the Sugar Bowl for a second consecutive season.

Earlier in the year, Alabama had beaten the Bulldogs on the road, handing them their first home loss in several years.

Despite the success in the SEC Championship Game last year, the Crimson Tide have historically been a major roadblock for Smart throughout his tenure at Georgia, continuing into the current Kalen DeBoer era.

The Crimson Tide have started to find their footing offensively over the last few weeks after a shaky start to the season, and it's sure to be a hostile environment in Tuscaloosa for the Bulldogs on the road.

Kickoff between Alabama and Georgia is set for Saturday evening at 7:30 pm ET.
