Rhamondre Stevenson could be one of the biggest winners of Week 6 in fantasy football after TreVeyon Henderson suffered a high ankle sprain that is expected to sideline him for multiple weeks.
With the New England Patriots suddenly needing a lead running back, Stevenson has a golden opportunity to deliver another strong fantasy performance against the New York Jets.
Stevenson has already shown signs of turning his season around, scoring 15-plus fantasy points in each of his last two games. He also delivered an impressive performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5, rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for 21 yards. Now, with Henderson expected to miss time, Stevenson should receive the lion's share of the backfield workload.
The Boston Herald praised Stevenson's performance, highlighting his season-high seven forced missed tackles, explosive plays and ability to find openings in the defense. The report also expressed confidence that New England can manage Henderson's absence, even with rookie Corey Kiner potentially stepping into a larger role.
That is encouraging news for fantasy managers. Stevenson should have a clearer path to consistent touches, including opportunities near the goal line and in the passing game. The matchup against the Jets also gives him a chance to build on his recent momentum.
