The Detroit Tigers will play under a new ballpark name beginning in 2027, with Comerica Park set to become Fifth Third Park after more than a quarter-century under its original title.

The Tigers and Fifth Third Bancorp announced the change Monday, marking the first naming-rights switch since the downtown Detroit stadium opened in 2000. The new branding will take effect next season as the Tigers look ahead after a disappointing 2026 campaign, while the remaining home games this year will still use the Comerica Park name.

Brad Galli, host of The Brad Galli Show, took to X, formerly Twitter, sharing a photo of a ceremonial ice sculpture displaying the new Fifth Third Park logo after the official unveiling earlier Monday.

“Ice makes it official.

The Tigers stadium will be named Fifth Third Park for the 2027 season and beyond.”

The name change follows Fifth Third Bancorp's February merger with Comerica Incorporated, a transaction that brought the longtime stadium sponsor under the Fifth Third brand. Comerica had held the ballpark's naming rights since the stadium opened and extended its agreement in 2018 through 2034.

Ilitch Sports + Entertainment and Fifth Third officials formally unveiled the new name and logo Monday afternoon at Comerica Park. The ice sculpture in Galli's post was a separate indoor display featuring Fifth Third's “5/3” mark, the Fifth Third Park name and the Tigers' orange-and-white tiger head.

Detroit plans to update stadium signage during the offseason and install the marquee Fifth Third Park branding before the 2027 home opener against the Chicago White Sox on March 25. Neither the Tigers nor Fifth Third has announced a public end date for the naming arrangement.

The timing also coincides with the start of the Tigers' final 2026 homestand. The Chicago White Sox eliminated Detroit from postseason contention Sunday, and the Tigers have six regular-season home games remaining, beginning with three vs. the Washington Nationals tonight before closing the season with three vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Those games will close the Comerica Park era before the building begins its first season as Fifth Third Park in 2027.
