Rawlings announced the winners of the 2026 Platinum Glove Awards on Friday night, honoring the best defensive player in each league, regardless of position, as well as the best defensive team in each league.

Cubs center fielder was named the National League Platinum Gold Glove winner, while in the American League, won the honor. It was the first such win for both players.

The Cubs took home the Gold Glove team honor in the NL, while the Blue Jays were named the best defensive club in the AL.

PCA won his second straight Gold Glove Award this season and was more than worthy of winning the Platinum version. Crow-Armstrong led the Majors with +26 Outs Above Average, his second straight season leading or tying for the MLB lead in that category. His +63 OAA since 2024 only trails Bobby Witt Jr. (+64). PCA also accumulated 16 Defensive Runs Saved, tied for the seventh-most among any player.

Bellinger won his second career Gold Glove this season and the first since his MVP-winning season in 2019 with the Dodgers. The Yankees outfielder racked up 21 DRS, tied for the third most in the Majors behind Wilyer Abreu (+28) and Brice Turang (+23). Bellinger joins Jose Trevino (2022) as the only Yankees to win the award since it was introduced in 2011.

On the team front, the Cubs have made something of a habit of winning the Gold Glove team honor. It’s Chicago’s second straight season winning the award and their third such win since Rawlings expanded it to the team level in 2020. The 2026 Cubs were by far the best defensive club in the Majors, leading with +72 OAA and +115 DRS. The aforementioned PCA and Alex Bregman both won Gold Glove awards for the ‘26 squad.

The Blue Jays, meanwhile, have also been frequent winners of this award, winning it for the third time since it was introduced (2023-24). The three awards are tied with the Cubs for the most of any club. Toronto ranked third in the AL with 51 DRS and fifth with +14 OAA.
