It's hard for the Chicago Bulls to find a silver lining as the season unfolds. On Wednesday, the New York Knicks steamrolled them 135-105 at Madison Square Garden.
Although every Chicago player scored, the results spoke for themselves. Afterward, Caleb Wilson seemed upset he didn't get the ball enough early.
He finished with 5 points, shooting 5-for-15 from the field and 1-for-7 from the 3-point line. A real switch from his early dominance.
At the same time, head coach Tiago Splitter said he expects Wilson to keep going all out regardless of what the scoreboard says, per Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic.
“The game is long, I try to put myself in their shoes,” Splitter said. “Caleb probably never been in these situations in his life. He's always been on the winning side. Now you gotta be resilient and play hard even when down 20, 30, 40. Doesn’t matter.”
The Bulls are now 1-7. They are in the midst of a serious rebuild, with a full-on new approach led by Splitter.

Meanwhile, Wilson is averaging 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Spliter is in his first season as head coach and brings development and pedigree. He took over the Portland Trail Blazers last season and helped lead a young team to the postseason.
The Bulls will face the 76ers at the United Center on Sunday at 2:30pm CST/3:30 p.m. EST.
